The Inspiration: Mexico City

Our focus this season is women cut from their own cloth. Women who are chefs, musicians, coders, authors and entrepreneurs- all of whom inspire and support us. They are different ages, sizes and pursue diverse passions but together they created the focus of our design process. They are unified through their collective bravery, intelligence and optimism. Regardless of what they do, they choose to always be building and moving forward. This collection was built to celebrate, empower and create a connection with their creativity. To give them art to wear while they tell their own stories.

The collection’s palette, silhouette and texture is inspired by a trip Tanya took to Mexico City. Frida Kahlo, the ultimate dreamer and doer, embodies the bold attitude of the city and the spirit of our Tanya Taylor woman. A woman cut from her own cloth. Tanya was inspired by the vibrant individual style and practicality that was embraced by Frida and the women of the city. Their bold expressiveness of color inspires the S19 palette of Mexican pinks, acid limes, guavas, azures and yellows. The color story radiates confidence and textures are meant to be mixed to create personal style. Solids are hand dip dyed, tie dyed hems interrupt florals, structured linen is printed in hand painted toucans, and owls exist to create a curiosity and story behind each piece. Gingham and animal prints become a new neutral. Shirting is exaggerated in sleeves and knits are featherweight and sheer.

The collection is a for a modern romantic who believes and builds.
